Pegasus Airlines: A bit of history
Pegasus Airlines (IATA:PC & ICAO:PGT) is Turkish Low-cost airline that was founded as a joint venture company on 1990 by Aer Lingus Group, Silkar Yat?r?m ve Insaat Organizasyonu A.S. and Net Holding A.S. and started operations shortly after that with just two airplanes. Today, Pegasus Airlines is a leading low-cost airline in Turkey, has a fleet of 82 planes and fly to more than 100 destinations across Turkey, Europe and the Middle East with a policy based on reasonably priced transportation opportunities on point-to-point basis in short and medium range routes.
Esas Holding A.S., owned by Sevket Sabanci and his family, acquired Pegasus Airlines on 2005. In November 2005, Pegasus started scheduled domestic flights and became the fourth commercial airline in Turkey.
